Lion Tamers

Recovery Supports Program

There is hope in Jesus, there is help from Lion Tamers! Recovery is Possible ... Individual Sessions - Wednesdays 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; Recovery Support Group Sessions - Wednesdays 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Principle 1:  I MUST REALIZE I AM NOT GOD. I admit that I am powerless to contol my tendency to do the wrong thing and gthat my life is unmanageble. "I am blessed when I am at the end of my rope. With less of me there is more of God and His rule." Matthew 5:3 (Step 1)

Principle 2:  I MUST EARNESTLY BELIEVE THAT GOD EXISTS, thast I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover. "I am blessed when I feel I've lost what is most dear to me. Only then can I be embraced by the One most dear to me." Matthew 5:4 (Step 2)

Principle 3:  I MUST CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE TO COMMIT all my life and will the Christ's care and control. "I am blessed when I am content with just who I am -- no more, no less. That's the moment I find myself the proud owner of everything that can't be bought." Matthew 5:5 (Step 3)

Principle 4:  I MUST OPENLY EXAMINE AND CONFESS my faults to God, myself and to other persons whom I trust. "I am blessed when you get my inside world (my mind and heart) put right. Then I can see God in the outside world." Matthew 5:8 (Steps 4 & 5)

Principle 5:  I MUST VOLUNTARILY SUBMIT to any and all changes God wants to make in my life. "I am blessed when I've worked up a good appetite fro God because He's the food and drink in the best meal I'll ever eat." Matthew 5:6 (Steps 6 & 7)

Principle 6:  I MUST EVALUATE ALL OF MY RELATIONSHIPS, offer forgiveness to those who have hur me and make amends for harm I've done to others, whenever possible, except when doing so would harm me or others. "I am blessed when I care. At the moment of being 'Care-full,' I find mysel 'cared for'. I am blessed when I can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when I discover who I really am, and my place in God's family." Matthew 5:9 (Steps 8 & 9)

Principle 7:  I MUST RESERVE A DAILY TIME WITH GOD for self-examination, Bible reading and prayer in order to know God and His work for my life and gain the power to follow His will." (Steps 10 & 11)

Principle 8:  I MUST YIELD MYSELF TO BE USED BY GOD, to bring this good news to others, both by my example and by my words.

The church covenant is a voluntary agreement by members of the Church whereby they promise to conduct their lives in such a way as to glorify God and promote the ongoing of His Church. Every member should study it carefully, refer to it often and seek to live by it. This clearly outlines the obligation of church membership.
