Scripture: Genesis 8:9
I give thanks to our Lord always for His mercy. I was just thinking of how we oftentimes get tired and can find no place to rest our exhausted minds, thinking of how we go from place to place and from one thing to another, seeking things that will not satisfy. We exhaust others and ourselves needlessly when we forget the true answer to all our problems. Our Lord has promised in His Word: “I will never leave you nor forsaken you” (Hebrews 13:5).

God is faithful to His people, even during their times of failure. The Bible is filled with love. It begins with God’s mighty acts of creation—separating light from darkness, filling the firmament, and creating every living thing, including us (Genesis 1:1-31; Genesis 2:1-25). Even after Adam and Eve sinned, divine love never faltered. Instead of eternally condemning His children, God promised salvation (Genesis 3:15; Romans 16:20).

Scripture: Genesis 1:26
A number of people think that there is a battle going on between God and the devil. There is no battle going on between God and the devil. If there was, it wouldn’t last long. That’s like saying, “Tony Evans and Mike Tyson are fighting.” Sure, we might both climb into the ring together to duke it out, but I would be no match for Mike, even at his age now.
